What happened with three real songs
On October 25, 2026, we selected each recording in the live browser converter, downloaded its .mid result and read it with an independent MIDI parser. These are observations from one Windows computer, not accuracy scores or speed promises.
Complete mixed piece:Background Music 1 by Tozan, a 136-second OGG with piano chords, bells and bass, produced one note track with 2,670 detected notes. At 0.70 seconds the output has MIDI pitch 50 lasting 0.08 seconds, then another pitch 50 at 0.79 seconds lasting 0.35 seconds. There are 221 notes shorter than 0.08 seconds. Without a reference score, we cannot say which are wrong.
Drum-heavy recording:Rock Theme 3 by Umplix, a 69-second WAV of guitars and drumset, produced one note track with 1,344 detected notes. The creator also supplies the original MIDI: its opening has a guitar at pitch 55 and separate drum hits at pitches 35 and 49 on the drum channel. Our converted file instead opens with pitches 43, 55 and 62 in one ordinary note track. The drum part was not preserved as a drum track; the output at that drum-containing moment includes pitched notes 43 (G2) and 62 (D4) that are not the opening guitar pitch. We cannot assign either note to a particular drum hit.
Solo piano: a locally available 261-second piano MP3 produced one note track with 5,091 detected notes. At 0.92 seconds the output has pitch 82 for 0.07 seconds and another pitch 82 at 0.99 seconds for 0.22 seconds; 413 notes are shorter than 0.08 seconds. We have no aligned score for this recording, so these short repeated notes are items to inspect, not proven mistakes. We do not host that audio or its MIDI here.
What a song-to-MIDI download does and does not give you
Select your own local audio file above, convert it, then open the downloaded .mid in a MIDI editor. It contains estimated note events, not the recorded sound. People also ask for separate instrument tracks from a song. This tool cannot provide them. Drum sounds may appear among ordinary pitched notes, and dense arrangements need manual review.
A separate 184-second rock recording was accepted by the file selector but failed during conversion on this computer with “Failed to compile fragment shader.” The stated file limits do not guarantee that every song will convert on every device.
