Convert a WAV recording into one downloadable, single-track .mid file. Free, no sign-up. Choose one WAV file up to 100 MB or 10 minutes, whichever limit comes first.
Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your audio is not uploaded to any server.
On October 24, 2026, we made an eight-second WAV containing eight one-second notes from C4 through C5, then ran this browser converter on a Windows computer. The downloaded MIDI was 169 bytes. An independent MIDI parser found all eight intended pitches near their expected starts and durations, plus six extra short notes an octave higher near the first six note onsets. The output had 14 notes in one note-bearing track, so this was not a perfect transcription.
You can inspect the test WAV and the actual downloaded MIDI. The test recording was 44,100 Hz, mono PCM. The MIDI header declares format 1, two chunks and 480 ticks per quarter; one chunk contains the notes. On that one machine, conversion and download took 38 seconds. That is a test observation, not a speed promise for your device.
Select a WAV above, start the conversion, and download the .mid file when it appears. The sound stays in your browser. Check the notes in your MIDI editor before using them: a clean single-note scale still produced octave extras in our test, and a dense song may need more correction.
