Choose a local MP3 and download estimated notes in one MIDI track. Free, no sign-up. One file up to 100 MB or 10 minutes, whichever limit comes first. This tool does not separate instruments.
Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your audio is not uploaded to any server.
On October 25, 2026, we selected three complete MP3 recordings in the live browser tool, downloaded each .mid file, and read the downloads with an independent MIDI parser. Each result contains one note-bearing track. These counts describe output, not transcription accuracy.
The browser decodes your MP3 before this tool resamples the decoded audio to 22,050 Hz mono for note detection. The converter does not read an MP3 bitrate number as a quality score. Different encodings can change the decoded sound that reaches the model, so detected notes may change too; a higher bitrate alone cannot guarantee a better transcription. Source audio above 22,050 Hz is downsampled for this tool, while increasing a lower-rate source cannot recreate detail absent from that source. The three recordings above have different music and are not a controlled bitrate or sample-rate comparison, so they do not establish a numeric accuracy difference.
Choose a local MP3 above, convert it, and open the downloaded .mid in a MIDI editor. It contains estimated notes, not the original recorded sound or separate instrument stems. The short fragments shown in our examples need listening and score alignment before anyone can call them transcription errors. This tool cannot deliver isolated drum, bass, vocal and guitar tracks. For a different input and its own test, see the WAV test, voice test or mixed-song test.
